Events

Cube is a custom curated draft set. They are typically created to capture a specific gameplay pattern or aesthetic style. Some even have custom rules for how they are drafted or the games after. Cubes can be vintage powered cubes, showing off the heights of magic, while others can focus on a specific plane, capturing the flavour. Cubes can be played multiple times, and often reveal draft strategies after many plays. Cube owners also tend to tinker and update their cubes, like decks they are always evolving. Cube Cobra shows many cube lists. We encourage anyone who already has a cube to bring theirs (or make their own one) Others, please react to those posts to show interest for the night. Unlike a draft, the cards are not kept afterwards and need to be returned so the cube can be played again. Please arrive before the cube fire time so we can get the most games in. There will be prizing and door prizes for those that play all rounds. Pauper Commander is a variant of Commander (EDH) in which decks are made up of 99* commons with any uncommon creature as the commander Here are the rule differences: Commander must be an uncommon creature, vehicle, or spacecraft and does not need to be legendary. The 99* cards in your deck must be common Card Rarity - If a card has been printed at a specific rarity, it is classified under that rarity. Cost of entry covers these packs and prizes, you keep all the cards you drafted afterwards. We are running Normal Draft (8 Players): Choose one card each draft pick when drafting. Scenery change, we will be at the Curtin Tav this week, for drinks alongside our card games! This is an 18+ only venue, however we still have our typical room in the Health Pop Building 400.249 for you to use if you so wish. Pizza will be provided at the Tav btw: happy hour is 4-5pm so you may want arrive earlier to grab a 7$ pint. Chaos Draft is a limited format of MTG where you draft cards, that is, you pick one card from a booster pack and then pass it to your neighbour. However, unlike regular Booster Draft which is used in carefully crafted environment, Chaos Draft uses booster packs from a variety of different sets by giving different packs to each player. The Annual General Meeting is where we recap the year and elect the following year's committee.
